Glutinous rice, also known as sticky rice, sweet rice or pearl rice. It is a native of Asian countries. It is widely used as an ingredient for a wide variety of sweet, savoury, dumplings or fermented snacks. It is short grain rice and has the presence of a starch compound called amylopectin which makes it sticky. It has many minerals and vitamins like thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, selenium and zinc. Sticky rice provides glucose to nourish the brain, liver and muscle function. Its high-fibre content lowers risk of heart problems. Very nutritious as it is loaded with minerals and minerals.
